Administrator Overview

This guide covers the administrative side of the TRE — everything from day-to-day project oversight to setting up the platform.

What This Guide Covers

Administrative work generally falls into two areas, with most roles falling in one category.

Running a project day to day. This covers keeping a project staffed correctly, reviewing and actioning access requests, monitoring workstations and spend, and keeping an eye on project-level activity. The pages you'll use most are Project Members, Reviewing & Approving Requests, Managing Cohort Access, Monitoring Workstations, Project Cost, and Project Audit Logs.

Running the platform itself. This covers setting up the organisation structure and budgets, creating projects and inviting users, provisioning infrastructure, publishing datasets, and monitoring the platform as a whole. The pages you'll use most are Budget, Projects, Users, Computes, Workstation Templates, Publishing a Dataset, Platform Cost, Platform Audit Logs, and User Activity.
