Visual Pipeline Builder

Building a Pipeline using the No-Code Visual Builder

Bioinformaticians can build, configure and launch new pipelines from the platform through an intuitive drag-and-drop interface without requiring any coding expertise.

The no-code visual drag-and-drop Pipeline Builder allows bioinformaticians to import pipeline parameters right out-of-the-box and stitch them together in pre-set configurations. Users can use the drag-and-drop feature to add/modify/rearrange their parameters.

  1. Select Pipelines from the Navigator Menu on the left pane.
  2. Click on the My Pipelines tab.
  3. On the top right, select New Pipeline.
  4. The window opens to the Visual Pipeline Builder. Select Add from the top right corner to add new Parameters and Tasks.
  5. For example, if adding a file Parameter, specify the dataset or dataset directory from the drop-down menu. Similarly, for other parameters, specify the range or Default Values.
  6. If adding a Task, select a task from the list of pre-loaded and versioned tools with their supported file formats.
  7. Stitch the added tools together by dragging the dotted line connectors between each added Task or Parameter.
  8. The pre-loaded tools available under Tasks have built-in specifications for their input and output parameters. Therefore, errors in connecting tools in the supported format or structure are automatically prevented, since unsupported parameters will not be stitched together.
  9. Once the pipeline build is complete, and all Nodes are filled, Save your pipeline.
  10. Access the saved pipeline from the My Pipelines page. Version and clone the pipeline from the right drop-down option.
  11. Publish the pipeline and Run it on Quark.
